Is it time to list your boat or RV?

Get out the camera. You want clear pictures of your serial numbers. For a boat, that means two or three total - the boat HIN, motor serial number and trailer VIN plate if applicable. For an RV find the 17-digit VIN. When it comes to relying on pen and paper to copy down all these numbers you are leaving yourself vulnerable to human errors. Pictures don’t make mistakes!

Pull your ownership documents out of the safe. Don’t wait until the last minute to locate your titles, registrations or other ownership documents - these travel with the boat or RV and need to go to your buyer. Contact your bank. If you have a lien make sure to get a release of lien from your lender following the payoff for an easy transfer of ownership to your buyer.
